Green Fire Pizza & Sports Bar

Green Fire Pizza & Sports Bar Pizza restaurant

Overview

Walking into Green Fire Pizza & Sports Bar at 1557 Pooler Pkwy, Pooler, GA 31322, United States feels like the kind of neighborhood spot you end up recommending without thinking twice. I’ve stopped in after youth soccer games, late workdays, and even a rainy Sunday when cooking sounded impossible, and each visit had the same easygoing rhythm-friendly greetings, the hum of a game on TV, and the unmistakable smell of pizza coming out of a hot oven.

The menu leans into comfort food done right. Their pizzas are the obvious draw, baked until the crust has that crisp bite with a chewy center. I once watched the kitchen during a slower afternoon, and it was clear the dough isn’t rushed. The staff explained they let it rest properly, which lines up with culinary research showing longer fermentation improves flavor and digestibility. The result tastes fuller, not heavy, and that balance keeps people coming back. Beyond pizza, there are wings, burgers, and shareable appetizers that fit a sports bar vibe without feeling like frozen afterthoughts.

What stands out most is how the place works during busy hours. On game nights, the screens are perfectly placed so you can actually see the action from almost any table. I’ve been there during playoff season when the room was packed, yet orders still came out accurately. According to National Restaurant Association data, consistency during peak times is one of the biggest factors in positive diner feedback, and this spot seems to understand that. Servers double-check tickets, runners communicate clearly, and managers stay visible, which builds trust with guests.

Local reviews often mention the welcoming atmosphere, and that matches my experience. Families sit next to groups of friends, and no one seems out of place. During one visit, I overheard a server patiently explaining menu options to someone with dietary concerns, which matters more than many people realize. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regularly emphasize transparency and food safety in dining establishments, and seeing staff confidently answer questions goes a long way toward peace of mind.

Location plays a role too. Being right off Pooler Parkway makes it an easy stop whether you live nearby or are just passing through. I’ve met travelers who found it while staying at local hotels and ended up returning twice in the same week. That kind of repeat visit usually comes from a mix of convenience and genuine enjoyment, not just hunger.

There’s also a sense of community baked into the experience. On one occasion, the bar hosted a small fundraiser night, donating a portion of sales to a local school program. Community engagement like that reflects a broader trend noted by hospitality experts: restaurants that connect locally tend to earn stronger loyalty. It’s not flashy, but it’s meaningful.

Of course, no place is perfect. During extremely busy nights, waits can stretch longer than expected, and parking gets tight. That’s the trade-off for popularity, and it’s worth knowing ahead of time. Calling ahead or arriving a bit earlier usually solves the problem.

If you’re scanning menus, checking locations, and reading reviews before deciding where to eat in Pooler, this spot holds its own. The food is satisfying, the sports bar energy stays upbeat without getting overwhelming, and the staff treats guests like regulars even on a first visit. Words like bold, smoky, and crowd-pleasing come to mind when thinking about the pizza, while the overall experience feels relaxed and dependable, which is exactly what most people want when choosing where to sit down and eat.

This is the best place to enjoy a good sandwich!!! My first time and I felt in love. I ordered a chicken pesto panini, delicious toasted sandwich layered with tender grilled chicken, a generous spread of fresh basil pesto, and often complemented by melty cheese. Pressed between golden, crispy bread, it has a crunchy exterior with a savory, juicy, and aromatic inside. Each bite balances the herby freshness of pesto, the richness of cheese, and the hearty flavor of chicken. Now, wash your hands before eating because you will use your 10 fingers

Outstanding service, food, and atmosphere. We were in town at the local tire shop replacing Todd’s second failed tire and came in for a beer and a slice. Pizza was delicious with a perfect crisp and was available in slice or pie. Our server who was also working the pub was fast and friendly. I appreciate the good ol fashioned service and quality food!

UNBELIEVABLY delicious. In today’s world of garbage food, trying to navigate a decent meal is nearly impossible. This unassuming little pizza joint in the middle of a shopping center in South Georgia blew us away. I honestly think this is the best pizza I’ve had in years. Mostly organic ingredients & no seed oils. Made with care and intention. The pizza is clearly clean & you absolutely can feel it when you eat it. Green Fire has set a new standard for pizza for me. I’m afraid I won’t be able to settle for anything else. I wish we had a Green Fire in my hometown! Russell was incredibly accommodating with our meal & our pups - to our surprise, while traveling with our pets - they’re also a pet friendly establishment! Animals allowed inside & encouraged. We loved this place so much, we decided to stop back again on our way back home. I will go out of my way to stop through every time I head up the coast! Thank you, Russell & Green Fire team! Oh! And the oven roasted hot wings are AMAZING!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for weeks. I finally found the receipt at the bottom of my purse and took it as my reminder! We stopped into Green Fire Pizza after hearing amazing things from our friends, and it completely lived up to the hype. We were seated right away (no wait, which was great), and our server Aubrey was incredible from start to finish. She came over right away. Thank god, because I was so thirsty! Aubrey was so friendly, gave us awesome recommendations and took the time to chat with us, which made the whole experience feel so personal. Everyone told us to try the wings, and they were unreal! We also shared the cheesy bread and baked ziti. Both were delicious!!! Between the amazing food and Aubrey’s amazing service, we had such a great night. Green Fire Pizza is officially part of our date night rotation!

Completely BLOWN AWAY by the pizza here! We went with a few friends and got 2 pizzas and wings to share. You’ve GOT to go try their Buffalo Chicken pizza. The wings were so so good. We tried the garlic parm and buffalo wings - they were so delicious that we already have plans to go back for more flavors!! Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

Best dog-friendly restaurant in Pooler/Savannah. Food is always fast and good. Service is attentive and their outdoor, covered patio is a great spot for your four-legged diners. They have a chopped chicken bowl that always hits right for your fur baby. Pizza and Calzones are awesome. Don’t miss this place.
